The Problem Before We Stepped In

A Malaysian business posting to seven places writes the same thing seven times, and the tools that fix that are all built somewhere else. Buffer, Hootsuite and Later bill in US dollars, so the price moves with the exchange rate and the card issuer adds a foreign transaction fee on top; most of them also charge per channel, so posting to seven places costs seven times. They default to somebody else's timezone, which means counting hours backwards to schedule 9pm here. The alternative — an agency at RM800 to RM15,000 a month — is a person writing and replying, which is a different service entirely from putting a post out on time.

Solution

What We Built

Duta is the first social media scheduling tool built in Malaysia: one post, written once, sent to each connected account separately so a refusal on one platform does not stop the others. It is priced in Ringgit at RM99 a month with every channel included, and a new account defaults to Asia/Kuala_Lumpur. Files are checked against every destination while the post is still being written — it names the rule and the actual value, "this video is 3:20, Threads accepts up to 5:00", rather than failing silently hours later — and character limits are counted the way each platform counts them, including X's rule that a link is always 23 characters. Publishing runs from Duta's own server on a 60-second tick, so the computer can be off. A refused post is retried three times and then reported in plain language. Beyond the web app, Duta exposes an MCP server, so the whole thing can be driven from inside Claude or ChatGPT: list the channels, check a post against each platform's limits, and schedule it, without opening the dashboard.
