The Problem Before We Stepped In

At Malaysian weddings and events, thousands of photos are taken by guests across hundreds of different phones — and most of them are never shared. The couple ends up with only the professional photographer's shots. Collecting photos from guests means sending individual WhatsApp requests for days, and half the photos arrive at a resolution too low to print. There was no simple, beautiful way for every guest to contribute to one shared album without downloading an app.

What We Built

Gathrly is a shared event photo gallery platform that works through a single QR code scan — no app download required. Guests scan, upload their photos, and they appear instantly on a live display wall that plays in real time at the event. A digital guestbook runs alongside the gallery for messages and wishes. Photos are automatically optimised to WebP, event hosts get full privacy controls and bulk ZIP download, and multiple themes let the gallery match the event aesthetic. Pricing is per-event with no subscription.
