Hidangi

Guests scan the table QR, read the menu on their own phone, and the order lands on your staff's screen — nothing for anyone to install.

Challenge

The Problem Before We Stepped In

A warung or small café run by one or two people loses most of its capacity at the counter. One person takes orders table by table, repeats them to the kitchen, and writes the same thing down twice. At one o'clock on a Friday that queue is the whole business, and the usual answer — a point-of-sale system with a terminal, a card reader and a training session — costs more than the shop makes on a slow week. Guest-facing apps fail for a different reason: nobody installs an app to order lunch once.

Solution

What We Built

Hidangi turns each table into an ordering point with a printed QR code. The guest scans it, reads the menu in their phone's browser, and sends the order straight to a live board the owner runs from their own phone. A kitchen display shows the queue in large type on a dark screen readable across a hot kitchen. The menu carries categories, prices, options and a Sold Out switch on every dish. Deliberately, Hidangi never touches the money — there is no card reader and no in-app payment, so guests still pay at the counter exactly as they do now, and every figure in the app is labelled Estimated Sales rather than pretending to be accounting.

Capabilities

What the Build Delivers

  • Guests order from their own phone's browser — no app to install, no sign-up, no queue at the counter
  • Orders arrive on a live board the owner runs from their phone: accept, prepare, mark served
  • Kitchen display built for the room it lives in — dark screen, large type, readable across a hot kitchen
  • Sold Out switch on every dish, so the menu stops selling what ran out at lunch
  • No card reader and no in-app payment: guests pay at the counter, and figures are labelled Estimated Sales
  • Free tier covers 300 QR orders a month with no card and no time limit; Pro is RM19.90/month

"Waktu lunch dulu saya lari meja ke meja ambil order, lepas tu jerit ke dapur. Sekarang pelanggan scan QR atas meja sendiri, order terus masuk telefon saya. Kami dua orang je, tapi boleh layan lebih ramai tanpa tambah pekerja."
